    Sounds like the "can't quite put my finger on it" situation. I suppose it's possible that experiences that are fun and you get enjoyment out of may not always have a technical thing you can point out as to why. It's the experience is fun.
    Whereas with things that are not enjoyable, it could be easier to pinpoint specific things that are off-putting.
    Maybe? I dunno.
    I was hooked by Rapture too. :)

    Outlast - Having a gun would have made it less scary… makes me think of that scene in Tremors where Michael Gross' character gives the kids a gun to get him running, but when he tries to fire it it's empty. When he complains he's told "Got you movin' didn't it?"

    I put in more than 80 hours on Horzion Zero Dawn with the Frozen Wilds. It was an easy choice for my 2017 GOTY.
